Sharab Bandi Sangharsh Samiti was established in 2015, one year before Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, declared a complete ban on alcohol in 2016. Recognizing its impact, the Chief Minister himself felicitated Shri Murtaza Ali for his dedicated efforts toward the Alcohol-Free India movement.
The Liquor Free India movement, spearheaded by Peace Education Charitable Trust under the banner of _Shadab Bandi Sangharsh Samiti_, has gained significant traction nationwide. As an all-India initiative run in collaboration with various local NGOs and social activists, the movement has been acknowledged for its grassroots mobilization and sustained advocacy against alcohol abuse.
The Trust has received laurels from community leaders, civil society groups, and local administrations for its efforts in raising public awareness, organizing de-addiction drives, and building a network of volunteers committed to an alcohol-free society. The collaborative model with NGOs across states has been particularly appreciated for uniting diverse stakeholders under one cause and creating measurable impact at the community level
